Blacks Actually Interviewed in New Global Warming Film

A new climate change film called The Great Warming will be coming out in selected Regal theaters on Nov 3rd in 34 US cities. The Great Warming is neither political nor pessimistic; instead it goes beyond the science to look at an array of solutions that can be implemented by individuals and communities. It presents climate change as a moral, ethical and spiritual issue. It also features leading African-American climate scientist Dr. Warren Washington, as well as civil-rights leader Dr. Gerald Durley speaking about the relevance of this issue to African-American communities.

Suitable for everyone ages 12 up, the film features many leading scientists, including Kevin Trenberth, Wally Broecker, Steven Schneider, Chris Fields, Klaus Lackner, Warren Washington, Richard Peltier, Cynthia Rosenzweig, Dorothy Peteet, etc., and was vetted by a Science Advisory Panel. The film includes segments about faith initiatives, green building, agriculture and health, as well as many other relevant topics.

The Great Warming has another initiative, Call to Action: http://www.blogger.com/. Join others in signing the United Statement, download information, send for free climate change booklets from NOAA, participate in a peaceful demonstration as part of the Nov 4th National Climate Action Day.

Color of the Cross: Black Jesus Movie

Release Date: October 27, 2006 Distributor: Nu-Lite Entertainment. Synopsis: This movie examines the final 48 hours of Jesus Christs life before his capture at Mount Gethsemane. By portraying Jesus as a black man, this movie may appear controversial to some. However, it stands to be the single most positive image of a black lead character in a film to date.

The controversy lies in the portrayal of Jesus as a black Nazarene, persecuted because of his radical interpretation of the Torah. Color of the Cross tells a story that is familiar to most. However, since Jesus is portrayed as a black man, this version of the story of Jesus can examine the role that race may have played in the persecution, capture, and crucifixion of Jesus.

Chuck Berry is 80 Years Old

He is living near St. Louis, Missouri in a suburban home and has a 155 acre spread in Wentzville, Missouri called Berry Park. He still performs at Blueberry Hill one night a month and has since 1996. People from all over the world travel to see him perform.

Although ChuckBerry and Little Richard invented Rock & Roll, they do not get the credit they deserve. Of course, both of the old war horses are still alive and they never performed together. Maybe something will show up on YouTube though. You never know. Or maybe it is not too late.

Leo DiCaprio to Build Green Town for Television Show

Leonardo DiCaprio plans to be the co-creator and executive producer of a new television show that will focus on the environment and will chronicle the eco-friendly reconstruction of an American town as it is transformed into a "'green' utopia of tomorrow." The project is currently being shopped to broadcast networks.

The idea for the project was inspired by the destruction of New Orleans by Hurricane Katrina and Al Gore's global warming documentary 'An Inconvenient Truth.' He intends to take a devastated community and help transform it as a prototype for the future. The town to receive the initial makeover has yet to be determined. Leo should rebuild in the 9th Ward in New Orleans.

Google Buys YouTube for $1.6 Billion - Bargain

Chad Hurley, Steve Chen, and Jawed Karim, founders of YouTube, finally hit real pay dirt by enticing Larry Page and Sergey Brin, founders of Google, to purchase their two year old company for $1.6 billion. AAEA uses YouTube too. But like any site that becomes popular, think the internet, it becomes a black hole because of its populartity. But lightning can still strike if you come up with something really unique to upload.

YouTube recently cut deals with Warner (Brothers) Music Group, NBC Universal, Sony BMG and Universal Music Group. Google will keep YouTube separate from its own video site, but will use its search function to enhance YouTube. Chad (white) is the face of YouTube, with Steve (Asian) keeping a low public profile. You rarely if ever see Jawed (Bangladeshi).

Maybe the celebrities in Malibu will get the message and clean up their act if it is found that they are contributing pollution from their septic tanks to the Pacific Ocean.

Katie Couric & CW's Black Sunday Struggling

It took a month for CBS News anchor Katie Couric (7.5 million) to move to third and last place against ABC's Charles Gibson (7.6 million) and NBC's Brian Williams (8.2 million). At least she is still close to ABC.

When UPN and The WB combined to become The CW, the black nights were reduced and moved from Monday and Tuesday to Sunday. The ratings are not good. "Everybody Hates Chris" opened with 2.4 million (even with help from Whoopi Goldberg), "All of Us" (2.3 million), "Girlfriends" (2.7 milion) and "America's Next Top Model" (2.5 million). "Chris" and "Girlfriends" dropped 70 and 50 percent each from last year's premiers.

Will Rupert Murdoch Improve DC Newspaper Market?

The Washington Post ran a tongue-in-cheek piece on the possibility of Rupert Murdoch, right, expanding the distribution of the New York Post in the Washington Metropolitan Area. Evidently Murdoch is printing copies of the NYP at local printing presses owned by the Baltimore Sun. Interesting.

We hope Mr. Murdoch will publish a local paper in Washington, DC. Although The Washington Times does an excellent job, New York City has three major dailies. DC deserves no less. Maybe the District of Columbia Post. The Washington Post is arrogant because of its monopoly status in the nation's capital. Their liberal bias is sickening. Their Democratic Party bias is unprofessional. Murdoch's News Corp Inc is desperately needed in Washington, DC. We need fair and balanced reporting from more print media sources.
