Desiree Rogers Is Obamas' Social Secretary

Chicago friend and 49-year old Harvard MBA divorcee Desiree Rogers is the social secretary for President-Elect Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama. Let's just put it out there now: PLEASE INVITE US TO STATE DINNERS. PLEASE.

Okay. Now that we have that out of the way. When will the media get tired of the 'first black' title? What? "First black to enter the White Hosue today?" "First black to drive the Obamas?" "First black to mow the White House lawn for the Obamas?" "First black to, well, you get the idea. Not that there is anything wrong with identifying race [note our name], but maybe this 'first black' title will be road kill pretty soon once it has been run over enough times.

Anyway, back to Ms. Rogers. This beautiful, smart and dynamic woman will be an asset to the White House and to Washington, D.C. We hope she will creatively mix locals with other people from all over the country and from all around the world.
