Malibu LNG Project Press Conference

AAEA held a press conference at the Malibu Pier on November 20, 2006 about a month after Hollywood celebrities held a press conference at the same location to protest a liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility proposed for construction 14 miles offshore and 25 miles north of Malibu. No celebrities protested when an LNG facility was proposed near a black community in Long Beach, California.

California is making itself vulnerable to blackouts again by opposing all energy projects everywhere. This project would not be environmentally damaging and would provide the needed natural gas for electricity generation. California also opposes coal and nuclear plants. Deep Cali ecologists will also oppose wind and solar projects based on land use objections. Wake up California. Help your governor to assure your lights will stay on.
